The Green Sea Environment Research Institute (GMERI) is a scientific and technological organization under the Hai Phong City Association for Human Resource and Talent Development, operating in the field of research, application and technology transfer in the field of marine environment, providing scientific and technical and technological services in marine environment consulting, monitoring and analysis of the marine environment and other relevant fields.

I. About Us

The Green Marine Environment Research Institute (GMERI) is a scientific and technological organization under the Hai Phong City Association for Human Resource and Talent Development, operating in the field of research, application and technology transfer in the field of marine environment, providing scientific and technical services in marine environment consulting, monitoring and analysis of the marine environment and other relevant fields.

The Institute has been in operation for two years, closely linking and coordinating with public science and technology organizations such as the Institute of Seafood Research, the Institute of Marine Resources and Environment, and the Institute of Environmental Technology. The Institute's activities have initially stabilized with a team of highly qualified researchers, 30 people: 03 doctors, 07 masters, 08 college-university level officials and 12 experts coordinating in specific tasks.

The Institute's headquarters is located in Hai Phong city - an important seaport city in the Northern Coastal Region of Vietnam. Two branches in the Central and Southern regions have also been quickly established with the goal of promptly responding to services for units on demand.

In order to meet the needs of practice and stem from the requirements of management as well as catch up with the development trends and application of advances in science and technology in the era of industry 4.0, the Blue Sea Environment Research Institute is well aware of the mission, improve the quality of scientific products associated with the reality of socio-economic development, provide services of monitoring and analysis of marine environment samples and waste from ships 24/7 quickly, promptly and accurately; strengthen the development of a contingent of highly qualified marine researchers ready for international integration in Vietnam's marine science.

III. Functions and tasks

1. Function
- Research, application and technology transfer in the field of marine environment and the maritime sector. Performing scientific, technical and technological services in marine environment consultancy, marine environment monitoring and analysis and other related fields.
- Perform the tasks assigned by the Hai Phong Association for Human Resource Development such as participating in and coordinating in organizing the training of high-quality human resources specializing in consultancy, management and exploitation of the marine environment and other relevant scientific fields in accordance with law.

2. Tasks
- To carry out scientific and technological research and application activities in the field of marine environment, survey, monitoring and assessment of the marine environment.
- To receive and transfer the application of science and technology in the marine environment from domestic and foreign scientific organizations and enterprises in accordance with law.
- Implement and coordinate in organizing training and retraining of high-quality human resources in the field of marine environment and other related fields.
- Providing scientific and technological services such as information, consultancy, training and technology transfer in the field of marine environment.
+ Consulting: Monitoring and analyzing the marine environment, assessing environmental impacts, etc.
+ Professional training: To organize and coordinate in organizing the training of scientific and technological human resources, human resources for general labor and fostering and improving the professional skills of human resources of organizations and enterprises.
+ Carry out cooperation activities and coordinate in organizing international conferences related to scientific research and technology transfer in the field of marine environment.
+ Organizing information, propaganda, seminars and scientific and technological materials on the marine environment.

3. Products and services managed under ISO 9001-2015
- Provision of services: Investigation, monitoring and assessment of the marine environment, coastal works and the field of marine science.
- To train human resources specialized in consultancy, management and exploitation of the marine environment and other relevant scientific fields.
- Organize scientific conferences to share research results for socio-economic development.

4. Diving, underground survey, survey and assessment of marine
ecosystems - A team of experts surveying and assessing the current status of coastal and island biodiversity in coastal and offshore waters of Vietnam. Specialized experts specializing in marine ecosystems such as:
+ Phytoplankton;
+ Benthic animals;
+ Classification of fish and marine
animals + Mangrove plant ecosystem (plants, seagrass and seaweed).

- A team of underground diving experts with certificates issued by international diving organizations to survey the underground bottom and underwater ecosystems. In addition, the Institute cooperates with domestic diving companies to coordinate the implementation of research services.

5. Supply and testing services of firefighting foam: We analyze according to the certificate of registration of testing activities of the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality of the Ministry of Science and Technology (registration number: 752/TN-TDC).

6.
